I am Habbat Shah, currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at BUITEMS. After completing four years of study leave for my PhD at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, I have rejoined BUITEMS to continue my academic journey. My doctoral research is now in its final stage. I hold both an MPhil (2012–2014) and a Master’s degree (2006–2008) in Anthropology, earned from Quaid-i-Azam University. Before joining BUITEMS, I worked in the development sector, where I collaborated with various national and international organizations on community-based and social research initiatives. My academic interests revolve around the local understanding of geography, biodiversity, and spatial identity, with a particular focus on how communities interpret and relate to their natural environments and geographical landscapes.
