This project aims to assess the impact of Afghan refugees working in the Harnai coal mines on the local economy. It investigates how the presence of refugee labor influences employment patterns, wage structures, and the livelihoods of local workers. The study also examines the role of refugee labor in sustaining coal production and its contribution to local markets and informal economic networks. Using qualitative interviews and field observations, the project explores both the economic benefits and tensions arising from refugee participation in the mining sector, offering policy insights into labor management and refugee integration in resource-based economies.
