Dr. Saad’s area of research interest is Molecular Genetics, DNA barcoding, Biocontol by using medicinal Plants & Taxonomy. During his PhD research work, in collaboration with NIBGE, Faisalabad & Canadian Center of DNA Barcoding, University of Guelph, Canada, under a project “GCUDG”, he has sequenced 1023 DNA barcodes (rbcl & matK) of 235 plant species of district Dera Ghazi Khan. With this research work, district Dera Ghazi Khan has become the first district of Pakistan of which almost all major flora is digitalized at molecular level. Now all DNA barcodes under the project “GCUDG’are the part of the international gene bank BOLD (Barcode of Life Data Systems). He has also documented the Medicinal (ethnobotanical) importance of all above mentioned plant species. He has published research papers in various national and international journals. Dr. Saad has participated and presented papers in various national and international conferences.
