Dr. Wahid Ali is Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Mining Engineering at BUITEMS, Quetta. With over 14 years of academic, research, and field experience, he specializes in geohazard assessment, rock mechanics, tunnel engineering, and slope stability analysis. His expertise includes UAV-based photogrammetry, 3D geological model generation, and 3D Finite element numerical modeling. Dr. Ali earned his Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, focusing on ground stress evolution and its impact on stability of surface and underground mines/tunnels. He has published in leading journals and actively promotes industry–academia collaboration to address mining and infrastructure challenges in tectonically active regions.
