Dr. Syed Abdul Ghafar is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at BUITEMS. He holds a PhD in Transportation Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2024), where his research focused on natural rubber-modified cold mix asphalt and emulsified bitumen for sustainable pavements. He earned his MS in Transportation Engineering from NED UET Karachi in 2017, and his BS in Civil Engineering from BUITEMS in 2014. He has also served as Lecturer at the Civil Engineering and Urban & Infrastructure Engineering departments, NED UET and joined BUITEMS as a Lecturer in 2018. Dr. Ghafar has published in Q1 SCI-indexed journals and presented at international conferences. His current academic responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in transportation engineering, supervising student research, and collaborating with industry on projects related to asphalt mix design, pavement design, geometric design, road monitoring, and infrastructure management.
