Currently, I am a Lecturer of Pakistan Studies at the department of humanities (BUITEMS), Quetta, and was 2023-2024 International Research Fellow at Lancaster University, UK. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. on “Sectarian Violence and the Rearrangement of Urban Spaces of Quetta, Balochistan” Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad. My work investigates the intersections of violence, space, and belonging in peripheral urban contexts like Quetta and identity politics in postcolonial Pakistan. On broader level my academic interests include borders in transition, migration, refugees, climate change, and the politics of memory and marginalization in Pakistan. I have presented my work at various international conferences in Thailand, South Korea, and Turkey, and national conferences such as at LUMS and BUITEMS. I have published work on themes such as gendered impacts of floods, flood and drainage problem, civil–military relations, and media discourse on identity.
