Academic & Social Links

Dr. Anwar Khan completed his postdoctoral studies at the University of Edinburgh, UK, and his PhD at the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab. He also had the opportunity to work as a visiting scholar for one year at Ohio State University in the USA. He also worked in the industry for approximately 4 years as a microbiologist. The research of Dr. Khan focuses on Molecular Microbiology. The main research areas are: 1) biocontrol of fungal phytopathogens using indigenous microbes, 2) using RNAi to determine the outcome of host-pathogen interactions, and 3) use of Agrobacterium-mediated transformation to introduce gene(s) in potato plants.
