Dr. Abdul Wajid is currently serving in the Department of Biotechnology at BUITEMS, Quetta. He is a molecular virologist with significant research expertise in infectious diseases, particularly those caused by Paramyxoviruses and Orthomyxoviruses originating from both domestic and wild species. His research has centered on understanding virus–host interactions, investigating epidemiological patterns, evaluating the effectiveness of vaccines, and characterizing pathogens of critical concern to both animal and public health. Through his work, Dr. Wajid has contributed to advancing knowledge on emerging viral threats and their control strategies. In addition to these areas, he is actively engaged in the development of diagnostic tools, DNA barcoding approaches, and genetic studies involving both humans and animals.
