The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) observed Iqbal Day on November 10, 2025, at the Pink Hall, Takatu Campus, to pay tribute to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the great poet, philosopher, and visionary thinker whose ideas continue to inspire generations.
The ceremony was graced by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Education–Research), as Chief Guest, and Hafiz Muhammad Tahir, Secretary, Government of Pakistan, as Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by poet & philosopher Irfan Baig, Deans, Directors, faculty members, and a large number of students from BUITEMS and other institutions.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the National Anthem, followed by a welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. Abdul Wadood, Director Student Affairs and Academics.
Students from Tameer-e-Nau College presented a soulful Kalam-e-Iqbal, celebrating Iqbal’s timeless poetry and message of self-realization. This was followed by an engaging Bait Bazi competition and a melodious performance of Naghma-e-Iqbal by the BUITEMS Musical Club, adding a vibrant cultural touch to the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, the distinguished guests emphasized Iqbal’s message of faith, selfhood, and action, urging the youth to internalize his vision and contribute positively to society through knowledge, integrity, and service.
The event concluded with a Cash Prize and Shield Distribution Ceremony, celebrating the winners and recognizing the efforts of all participants.
The commemoration of Iqbal Day at BUITEMS served as a reminder of the university’s commitment to promoting intellectual enlightenment, cultural heritage, and national pride — embodying the spirit of Allama Iqbal’s philosophy of continuous learning and self-empowerment.
