A Sectoral Review Meeting of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) projects was held on 7th January 2026 in the Committee Room of the Planning & Develo pment Department, Government of Balochistan, Civil Secretariat, Quetta. The meeting was headed by Mr. Awais Siraj, Member (Implementation & Monitoring), S R Usmani, DG Monitoring, Engr. M. Ammar, Chief Monitoring, and Mr. Fahad Bajwa, Monitoring Officer. The meeting focused on the progress, issues, and future direction of ongoing development projects in Balochistan.
Following the meeting, a follow-up visit of development projects at BUITEMS was conducted by the Monitoring Team of the Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan on 9th January.
The monitoring team was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS. A comprehensive briefing on the status of ongoing development projects was presented by Dr. Saeed Ullah Jan Mandokhail, Director Planning & Development (P&D), BUITEMS, highlighting physical and financial progress, challenges, and remedial measures.
During the visit, Mr. Awais Siraj emphasized the importance of effective monitoring mechanisms, transparency, and timely execution of PSDP projects. The discussion also covered future opportunities, improved coordination between stakeholders, and strengthening institutional capacity to ensure sustainable development outcomes.
The Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS, Prof. Khalid Hafiz briefed the visiting team on the future planning and development vision of the university, focusing on academic expansion, research infrastructure, and alignment with national development priorities.
The visit concluded with mutual appreciation and reaffirmation of continued cooperation to ensure successful completion of development projects and enhancement of higher education infrastructure in Balochistan.
